Caw's Ink Company
Old Ink Bottle Companies & Their History
In 1886, Francis Cashel Brown, joined the Fountain Ink Company of 62 Cliff Street, New York. Inspired by the company’s crow-colored ink, he devised the name "Caws." When Fountain Ink went broke that October, Brown bought the assets in a bankruptcy sale. He changed the name to "Caw's Ink and Pen Company", and named his wife its President.
Ink bottle collectors can find a number of small and master sized bottles embossed with Caw's Ink.
