Emry Davis was a prolific inventor. Davis whose home was in Kane, Pennsylvania had his business at 298 Broadway in New York. He is best known for his invented ink stands. He registered nearly a dozen patents for his ideas and sold one of the most popular ink stands of the day. He claimed that his ink was used by the Government for most of the records. Davis registered his first patent for an ink stand in 1889.
