Hundreds, perhaps thousands of 19th and early 20th century ink companies
manufactured inks and similar products and bottled them.
Ink bottle collectors have a wide range of types of ink bottles and ink wells
available. Many of which often come in beautifully colored
containers. Ink companies put up their inks in both glass and pottery
bottles. Often these same companies offered Ink stands or ink wells too.
Below are listed over 600 ink companies many of which we know little about. Most of the larger and more important concerns have fairly well documented histories.
