Old Ink Bottle Companies & Their History
Ivison, Blakeman, Taylor & Co. of New York advertised their Spencerian Ink in 1882 in the Christian Union. The offered Blue Black Writing Fluid known for its fluidity, color and durability, Blue Black Copying Fluid which promised to give three good copies, and Extra Black Writing Ink for records and documents.
The Blakeman in this concern might well be related to the pontiled age umbrella ink embossed Blakeman & Herring.
